Merchant Policy
Effective: 5th October, 2023.
Welcome to MayaFood! We’re glad to have you as a merchant/seller/vendor on our platform. To ensure a positive and friendly experience for all users, we ask that you take some time out to read and abide by the following in-house policies.
1. Eligibility: To sell on our platform, you must be 18 years old and have a valid government-issued ID.
2. Product Listings: You’re responsible for accurately describing your item (s) and any other relevant information. You must also include a photo of the item (s) you’re selling, not a stock photo (photo from the internet). Item photo (s) must be clear, 600px x 600px white background, and not more than 200kb.
3. Pricing: You’re free to set your prices, but they must be competitive with other sellers on the platform. We reserve the right to adjust the price or ask you to adjust the price if we believe they are unreasonable.
4. Fees & Charges: Creating your store and listing your items on MayaFood are all free of charge, however when you make a sale, you will be charged a 5% marketplace fee per order. This helps the platform in maintenance and development, marketing and promotion, customer support, security, payment processing, innovation and adaptation.
5. Delivery: The delivery will be handled by the drivers/riders that are assigned to the order. You’re responsible for picking and packing the order (s) for the driver/riders to pick up for delivery in a timely manner.
6. Payments: All payments will be processed through the platform. We will deduct the specified marketplace fee from the sale price, and the remainder will be deposited into your preferred account upon request for withdrawal from the merchant dashboard. We reserve the right to withhold approval of payment when we suspect any fraudulent activity or policy violations.
7. Communication: You’re responsible for communicating with the buyers regarding the sale, including any questions they may have about the item. Please respond promptly and professionally to all inquiries.
8. Returns: You must offer a return policy for your item. If a buyer wishes to return an item, you must accept the return and issue a refund. Please note that Cooked items strictly cannot be returned.
9. Prohibited Item: You must not at any point in time sell any rotten or expired items on the platform. Violation will result in permanent account termination and further reported to the appropriate institutions. It’s simple: if you cannot eat yourself, then don’t sell it. 10. Intellectual Property: You may not sell any item that infringes on the intellectual property rights of others. Please make sure you have the necessary rights and permission to sell the item (s) you list on our platform.
11. Feedback: Buyers may leave feedback on their experience buying from you. Please ensure you provide excellent service and accurately describe your item (s) to maintain a high seller rating.
12. Account Security: You’re fully responsible for maintaining the security of your account. Please use a strong password and do not share your account information with others. If you suspect that your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately.
13. Prohibited Actions: You may not engage in any activity that violates our terms of service, such as using fake or misleading information, manipulating the platform, or engaging in fraudulent or illegal activities.
14. Policy Violations: We take policy violations to heart and reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate any of our policies. We may also report violations to law enforcement authorities if necessary.
